Instructions for taking the Online Referee Test
Referee Test
Officials with a Provisional rating and higher, or with more than 3 years experience, go to
http://www.volleyballreftraining.com/usavtest/ to take the referee A test.
Officials with a Junior National or Nationals ranking, go to
http://www.volleyballreftraining.com/usavtest/ to take the referee A test.
The password for both tests is BGM472.
Before you take the test, you will be asked some personal information including your rating. If you do not know your rating, you can find it on this web page under the "Referee List". If you are new or under 18, select "not certified yet".
Officials with an Intraining rating, or 3 years or less experience, please email

USAV Referee Test Website Instructions
Referee Test: Once you are at the test website, select “2009-2010"
USAV Volleyball Theoretical Exam – Form A On-line Test” All specified referees must take test Form A. The site will take you directly you to a form to fill out your personal information and referee rating along with an ID and password before you begin the test. After providing this information you will be directed to the test.
Please remember that by taking the exam online, your exam results are submitted automatically to both your regional chairperson.
If you as a Junior National or National referee do not achieve a score of 90 on Exam A, you must contact your regional chairperson for a copy of Exam B. The second exam cannot be found online.
Graded results must be in by February 15, 2010 (Exam A or B). There is no extension for taking Exam B due to a low score on the first exam.
Id & Password:
Jr. National & National Referees only - You must register and use your USAV ID and password.
USAV ID = firstnamelastname [all one word]
Password = the last 4 digits of your social security number
Test results for Jr. National and National referees will be sent automatically to Kathy Ferraraccio, AVP USAV National Referee Commission.
All other referees: Login ID = guest, Password = guest
Taking the Referee Test
Answer all 50 test questions. After completing the test, submit the test by selecting "Submit Answers". The test will be automatically corrected and you will receive your results automatically via the email address you provide. For the referee test, a copy of your answers will also be emailed
to the Referee Chair. Use the rules from the Domestic Competition Rules, not the Badger Region modifications for the online test.
Making Corrections
The email you receive with your test score will also indicate which answers you got wrong. These questions must be corrected and include a rule reference. The email will indicate that you need to send the referee test corrections to the
Referee Chair Note: Jr. National and National referees are no longer required to send corrections to USAV but are still required to send them to the Badger Region Referee Chair.
After you have completed the test corrections satisfactorily, the Referee Chair will notify you when your test requirements have been completed. The Assigner (Jim Momsen, BadgerOfficialsAssigner@yahoo.com) will also be notified that you have completed your test requirements in order to be able to officiate for the 2009-2010 season.
You must complete your test requirements and all the other requirements prior to officiating any events sanctioned by the Badger Region. All referees must complete the referee test by February 15, 2010 and have corrections completed by February 15, 2010.
